Sri Jagannath Temple Project

Plan of the new Jagannatha temple to be built in 2006
In July 2006 the Bhaktivedanta Ashram will begin construction of a grand temple for Lord Jagannatha at our headquarters in Bhadrak, Orissa. At present engineers and architects are working to finalize the design of the temple.
The temple will have a hall with around 7,000 square feet of space which will be used for bhajans, kirtans, pravachans and annadana. On the altar will preside Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva, Subhadra and Sudarshana in their ananda-murti forms as found in Sri Kshetra Puri Dham. The largest deities of Lord Jagannatha in the world (over 7 feet tall) have recently arrived at our Ashram in Bhadrak, and prana-pratistha ceremonies will be performed for them in February-March of 2006 by pujaris from the ancient Puri Jagannatha mandir.
If you would like to contribute towards the construction of this temple, please enter the donation amount in the box below. Donations sent by check should have the words 'Temple Project' in the memo field.
Below you can find pictures of a preliminary model of the temple. This is only a rough model and the final design will be altered in many ways before construction begins in July.
