Lord Krishna Saves Tunglu the Street Dog for the Fourth Time

For the fourth time now, Lord Krishna has once again saved the life of Tunglu the street dog.

There is an empty abandoned land plot next to our ashram that is locked in on all sides by other house compounds, leaving it inaccessible and neglected. Today while cooking the naivedyam for the temple, my wife looked out the kitchen window at this area, and around 100 feet away she could see a dog was hanging upside down on a distant boundary wall. He had been impaled by a protruding iron rod of an unfinished boundary wall. The dog was completely helpless, hanging in the air upside down with its entire weight being held only by the iron rod that had pierced his leg.

In the distance you can see the boundary wall he was impaled on. Somehow someone noticed him in time.

My wife quickly called me, and I went out to call my friend Butu to see if we could try to save this dog. Butu managed to find a way to reach the dog, and when he got there he saw it was our street dog Tunglu. While trying to jump over this tall boundary wall, a protruding iron rod had pierced his leg, and was embedded six inches deep in his thigh. He was hanging upside down with his entire body weight being held only by this iron rod impaled in his leg. He was very fortunate that the rod had only pierced his thigh and not his stomach or chest. But even in his thigh, if he had remained unnoticed for a short time he would have died. The area where this happened isn’t visible from anywhere except our window, as it is surrounded by houses and boundaries on all sides. By Lord Krishna’s grace, he was somehow seen, and was able to be extracted in time.

We took him into our treatment shed, which he has been in many times before, cleaned the wound and gave him antibiotic and pain killing injections. Now we will keep him here for a few days to see how the wound turns out.
